Teresa Palacios completed her undergraduated studies of Materials Engineering at Technical University of Madrid in 2010. Before finishing, in 2009, she was joined the Materials Science department at Technical University of Madrid. She obtained her Master degree of Structural Materials for New Technologies at Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid in 2011.
Since then, she is been working on her thesis on the mechanical properies of bulk and foil tungsten based materials at extreme conditions. In 2013, during the course of her PhD studies, she performed a stay at the Institute of Applied Materials of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT, Germany) and at the Materials Science and Technology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL, USA).
Her current research areas of interest include micro- and nanomechanical testing (in situ), microscopy (EBSD and EDX techniques) and microstructural evolution with temperature.
