Dr. Nuria Vilaboa received her undergraduate degree and her PhD from the School of Pharmacy of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. In 1995, she joined the University of Miami, School of Medicine for postdoctoral studies focused on understanding at the molecular level how human cells respond to heat. In 1998 she moved to the Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas (CSIC) in Madrid, where she continued her research on the regulation of gene expression. In 2000, she joined the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas (CSIC-UAM). She moved to the Hospital Universitario La Paz as a Research Scientist in 2002. Since its establishment, Dr. Vilaboa’s laboratory has taken an active interest in identifying biomaterials and nanoparticles for bone repair and regeneration.
