Asunción Garcia-Escorial, PhD in Physics, is a Researcher at the Department of Physical Metallurgy of the National Centre for Metallurgical Research-Spanish Research Council, CENIM-CSIC. She was postdoctoral student in the Department of Metallurgy of the Cambridge University and in the Institute Polytechnique de Grenoble. She authored more than 160 scientific publications, supervised several PhD theses, participated and coordinated several research projects. Her research field includes fabrication and characterization of new metallic alloys for technological applications and her main contributions are about amorphization and crystallization of amorphous alloys; nanostructured alloys from immiscible systems; and new amorphous and nanoquasicrystalline Al alloys.
