Alejandro Ureña is Full Professor of Materials Science and Engineering. He has published more than 130 research articles in JCR journals and directed more than 50 research projects. His research has been cited more than 1300 times in the scientific literature (ISI database, H-index: 20). He was the President of the Spanish Association of Composite Materials (AEMAC) since 2005 to 2009. His research has been focused on processing and characterization of advanced light alloys and composite materials. During the last 10 years has centred the most of his R&D activities on the development of novel multifunctional composites by the incorporation of carbon nanostructures (graphene, carbon nanotubes and nanofibres) jointly with advanced fibers (carbon and glass fibers).
