Alberto Jiménez is an Industrial Engineer from Carlos III University and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Rey Juan Carlos University. His research is focused on composite materials, mainly based on polymer matrices and carbon nanostructures, used as nanocomposites, matrices for multiscale reinforced composites or adhesives. The application of these materials has been focused, mainly, on transport and energy areas. Recently, he has been the supervisor of the student team awarded with the first position in the EDP University Challenge with the project entitled “Development of an erosion resistant coating with self-healing properties for wind blades”. Additionally, in collaboration with Carlos III University, he has worked in high temperature oxidation and thermal fatigue of iron based metal matrix composites.
