The main goal of the Laboratorio Integrado de Caracterización de Materiales (LICAM) is to give service to the Madrid region´s industry in fields that required the knowledge about mechanical and on service behaviour of materials.
The laboratory was founded in 2000 and it belongs, from its beginnings, to RedLab (Laboratory Network of Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid).
The laboratory has the ENAC accreditation, main characteristic of the lab to perform quality services to private companies, in collaboration with the Rey Juan Carlos University researchers.
LICAM has five different areas all of them focused on materials research, from the scientific point of view but always dedicated to the projection to the real world.
- Corrosion and degradation of materials.
- Composite materials.
- Mechanical tests.
- Microstructural characterization.
- Welding and joining of materials
