LABRAX - CENIM X Ray Laboratory


The CENIM X ray laboratory provides high quality data to enable advanced characterization of materials in high-impact research areas in close collaboration with our users in both CENIM community and associated coworkers.

Compared with most laboratories, which use X-ray diffraction mainly for qualitative analysis of crystalline compounds, we usually cover a wide range of application including quantitative phase analysis based on Rietveld refinement, crystallographic texture characterization, residual stress measurement, or determination of crystallite size, micro-strain and degree of crystallinity in nanomaterials.

Technical Capabilities

Our laboratory facilities include two X ray diffractometers (equipped with Cu and Co radiation and Eulerian cradles for controlled sample positioning) and a X ray micro-fluorescence spectrometer, allowing combined micro-diffraction and micro-fluorescence measurements.
