CCRM - Caracterización, Corrosión y Degradación de Materiales de Interés Tecnológico

Universidad Complutense Madrid

The research group has over 30 years of experience in the field of corrosion, degradation and protection of advanced materials, such as steels, light alloys and metal matrix composites. The group is interested in alloy engineering and tailoring of surface functional properties. A range of available facilities for that purpose include accelerated atmospheric corrosion tests, in-vitro corrosion, tribological equipment and access to alloy manufacturing facilities.

Specific areas of research include development of new magnesium alloys (role of alloying elements and semisolid processing) for transport and biomedical applications and advanced surface treatments by anodizing and plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) of Al-, Mg- and Ti-based substrates for a wide range of applications.
